Open day to explore on your own. As a suggestion you can board the Gornergrat cogwheel train for breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. In the summer, you can also go for a hike in the Gorner Gorge. Explore Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, the highest altitude mountain railway station in Europe with a great restaurant on the top and a breathtaking panorama. Make sure to bring some warm clothes as the high altitude brings low temperatures even in the summer.

Day 5 – Glacier Express to St Moritz

Take the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St Moritz. The Glacier Express is the most famous railway in the world. It runs from Zermatt to Davos or St. Moritz and the journey takes about seven hours. It is a day trip through untouched mountain landscapes, glamorous health resorts, deep gorges, delightful valleys, and 91 tunnels as well as 291 impressive bridges. At the end of the day reach your exquisite 4-star hotel in the prestigious resort town of St. Moritz with stunning views of the mountains and the peaceful lake.

Today, your local guide with a sweet tooth will take you on a walking tour around Zurich to discover its unusual side, everything sweet and chocolatey. Discover the main landmarks of this beautiful city, while exploring the best spots where locals get their fix of nougat, homemade ice cream and hot chocolate in the same time learning about the history of chocolate in Switzerland and especially in Zurich.

Day 8 –  Lucerne

Travel by high-speed train from Zurich to Lucerne. Check into your 4-star hotel housed in a former Guild Hall in the heart of Lucerne with rooms overlooking the river and Chapel Bridge. Free time for the rest of the day to explore the city at your own pace. Lucerne is too often bypassed by visitors and yet the historic core of the city is a jewel of architecture and just gorgeous to look at. Stroll the streets of the Old Town, do some shopping, or sit at one of the many café-terraces and taste some local fare. The scenic Luzern lake calls for a boat ride or at least a nice walk along the shore where you can take some beautiful pictures.

Day 9 – Excursion to Mount Tiltis

Today take a trip to Mount Titlis with a local guide. Start the journey in the small resort town of Engelberg from where you will climb aboard a vertiginous revolving aerial cable car that will whisk you up to Mount Titlis, flying over gigantic glaciers and deep rifts. Once up there, enjoy the panoramic view over the Alps and walk, if you dare, over Europe's highest suspension bridge. You may also try some snow tubing for some fun (weather permitting).

Day 10 – Travel to Grindelwald / Stop in Aare Gorge

Pick up your rental car at the Lucerne rental office and drive to Grindelwald. On the way there we recommend that you stop at Aare Gorge, an ancient grotto accessible through a range of bridges, tunnels and pathways. You can go for a hike through the Aare Gorge from one of the two entrances. On your ways back you can take the trail over the Lammi pass for a change. In the afternoon continue your drive to Grindelwald. Stay at a 4-star hotel in the historic center of town

Day 11 – First Flyer Experience / Trummelbach Falls

Board the gondola from Grindelwald-First to First to enjoy a fun ride on the First Flyer, a zipline running along 800 meters of cable amongst the idyllic Swiss mountains. The thrill ride will take you to Schreckfeld, where you can board a gondola back up to First and then another one to come back to Grindelwald.

In the afternoon, drive to Trummelbachfalle to visit the Trummelbach falls, Europe's largest subterranean waterfalls. Water from the impressive Jungfrau mountain comes all the way down the valley up to here, then approximately 20000 liters of water per second come out gushing in thundering noises in this location. At the end of the day make your way back to Grindelwald.

Day 12 – Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe)

This morning, walk over to the Grindelwald Banhof station and take the train all the way up to Jungfraujoch. Jungfrau mountain is known as Top of Europe and is also has the highest railway station in Europe. From up there at a whopping 3454 meters of altitude, enjoy the 360 panorama over the mountains.
