Romantic Honeymoon in France & Italy
The Best Of paris, venice and florence
Day 1 – Arrival in Paris
Private transfer from Paris airport to your downtown hotel. Free time to relax, then head to the Seine River for a romantic evening cruise. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower and glide by the famous Notre-Dame while celebrating your marriage with a glass of Champagne. Your English speaking sommelier will entertain you with interesting facts about Paris and answer any questions you may have about the City of Lights
Day 2 – Discover the Louvre & Eiffel Tower
Today explore the two most famous landmarks of Paris. At the Louvre skip the long lines and go straight inside the museum, where a licensed guide will take you to the greatest masterpieces, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Canova's Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss, and Gericault’s Raft of the Medusa. See the most beautiful sections of the palace and the collection of the crown jewels while listening to stories about Napoleon. Next, tour the Eiffel Tower once again skipping the notoriously long lines. Follow your guide through a special entrance straight up to the tower, which once was the tallest structure in the world. Enjoy the unparalleled views, snap some gorgeous photos, and learn interesting facts about the most recognizable symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower.
Day 3 – Day trip to Versailles
A fascinating day awaits for you today as you return to the opulent era of French Kings and Queens. Together with your guide travel to Versailles, where you will hop on your bikes and first head to the market to stock up on a romantic picnic later in the day in the chateau’s gardens. Next, cruise through the grounds of the palace along a network of charming trails and tree lined paths, visit Marie Antoinette's Hamlet, as well as the Petit and Grand Trianon. At lunch time, enjoy a nice picnic on the Grand Canal, then continue to the Versailles Palace itself. Visit the Great Apartments, including the Queen's bedroom, the Hall of Mirrors where King Louis greeted his guests and where the Treaty of Versailles was signed at the end of World War I, as well as the room where Marie Antoinette's guards were killed as they protected her from the mob at the beginning of the Revolution. At the end of the day return to Paris.
Day 4 – French history and cuisine
No visit to Paris would be complete without a tour of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Start your tour with the birthplace of Paris, Île de la Cité, the small island in the center of the city, passing by the Conciergerie, Sainte-Chapelle church, and Point Zero. Finally, reach the Notre-Dame, heralded as the most magnificent example of French Gothic architecture. It was the first building in history to utilize flying buttresses. After a visit of the inside of the cathedral, enjoy a no-wait access to the famous bell towers to view Paris from above. Later meet a local fromager (cheesemonger) at a vaulted cellar for a cheese and wine tasting session. During the tasting learn about the secrets of cheese ripening, find out about the oldest cheese making process, and enjoy different types of small batch cheeses paired with local wines.
Day 5 – Romantic Venice
Upon check-out a private driver will take you to the airport to board a short, non-stop flight to Venice. After settling in at your new hotel, enjoy a private highlights tour of Venice. Follow your local guide through a labyrinth of narrow streets and small bridges, and discover some of the most interesting monuments of the city, such as the oldest Venetian church, the famous Ponte Rialto with its unique architecture, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, and St. Mark’s Square with the Doge’s Palace. Your guide will then take you inside St. Mark’s Basilica to get a good look at the gold mosaics, the four bronze horse statues and other interesting features of this massive church. End your day with a romantic gondola ride through the quaint canals as you marvel at the ornate façades of former palaces.
Day 6 – A walk rich in tastes
Today explore the hidden gems and most authentic areas of Venice known only to locals. Getting off the beaten path is totally worth it especially when that involves tasting a variety of cicchetti, the Venetian style tapas, accompanied by Prosecco and a few other wines from the Veneto area. At your choice, your guide will show you around the Dorsoduro, which is filled with art galleries and has a relaxed vibe, or the Cannaregio, once the site of the Jewish Ghetto. Rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 7 – Art in Florence
Private transfer from your hotel to Venice train station. Travel by high-speed train to Florence, where a chauffeur will be waiting for you. Check into your new hotel in the city center and after a short break, meet your guide for a tour of the magnificent Uffizi Gallery and later the mysterious Vasari Corridor. The Uffizi Gallery is home to one of the most important art collections in the world housed in the former offices of the Medici Family. See the works of Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and other artists from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Next visit the Vasari Corridor, one of the best kept secrets of Florence. Hidden between city houses and passing through a church, it is one of the most astounding architectural masterpieces of the Renaissance.
Day 8 – Walking tour with the David
Enjoy a leisurely guided walk in the historic center of Florence exploring the medieval streets, the Baptistry, which is the oldest building in the city, Piazza della Signoria with its wonderful architecture, and the iconic Ponte Vecchio with its boutique shops stretching across the Arno River. Finally, skip the often long lines at Galleria dell’Accademia and go straight to Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the David statue, where your guide will tell you a few stories about the artist and his main works. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 9 – Tuscany by Vespa
The Chianti area of Tuscany is well known for its rolling hills and scenic country roads and there's no better way to experience it than on an authentic Piaggio Vespa. A comfortable minivan will take you to the countryside, where you will hop on your scooters and continue your journey through Tuscany. Drive by vineyards and medieval villages making several photo stops.
